I cant stop thinking about my GT. i wanna work on it, finish putting the intake, RR and TB. But i havent found the time, and i need 2 new injectors. Well not really, just the little cap at the tip where it sprays. This GT is a mess. It sat in the scorching sun for 3 years, without running (surprisingly no cracked dash), then my friend picked it up, and tried fixing it. did a decent job except for the hole in the timing cover. i replaced all that. started running rich. found out it had a broken O2 sensor. literally snapped off. oil gauge goes crazy, so i had to buy a new oil sending unit. my gas meter isnt working, so i need to get the fuel sending unit too. the speedo is completely unhooked. i dont even think it has the cable. someone ripped out the fog lights, then my FPR went bad along with the TPS. replaced those two. So yeah, this car needs work. OH! and the tranny is almost gone. the only upgrade parts ive bought are 1.7 RR. Cobra intake, 65mm TB, & short shifter. Not to mention that when i took out the intake, it was beyond words of how repulsive ti was. and everything, i mean EVERYTHING, was disgusting in that car. but im getting it to run like it deserves. so lets see......things i have left to do are:

rebuild tranny (~$200)
clean up engine (Free)
install new intake (Free)
fix 2 injectors ($20-$120)
get new radio (~$100)
get new trunk shocks (~$20)
fix back window ($?)
get new weather stripping ($ALOT)
new tints ($100)
install new RR (Free)
fix speedo ($20)
fix gas meter ($75)

and thats it for now. excluding a paintjob and rims.

I would like to know where your gettin the trans rebuilt for 200 bucks?

yep. aren't old cars fun . I won't even go into how much cash I have into mine I'm not even close to being done, but it will be the most $$ I have ever spent on a car and I'm loving every minute of it. keep up the good work. I'd be waery of a $200 tranny rebuild. the good rebuild kits cost close to that or a little cheaper w/o labor.

its not a complete rebuild. its only fixing the messed up parts. complete rebuild wouldve been $900.

why would you rebebuild half....do the whole rebuild...ur luck ull put it in then the rest of it will break on ya

well, thats cuz i dont have the money for the whole rebuild. and besides,if i take it easy, itll last me long enough to find a job, ad save up for a tremec tranny

This must just be a ford thing because ever import I have ever own (old car's) has had a bad dash but my mustang sat for years out in the sun here in California and it looks brand new.

yeah, i put some armor all and it looks pretty good now. not all nasty and dry. and yeah, down here in miami, the car cn heat up easily to 100 degrees. i was surprised it wasnt cracked.

yeah but i rather go ll out in one thing and not have to worry about it again than having to go scaveging for some t-5 hoping itll work and spending money on it. besides, tremec t-5's are rated to 600 hp or so. more than enough for me. lol

lmao, yeah, but i didnt say it ran better. i said it was going to run better. besides, before i started working on it, it did run faster, it just over heated due to the fact that it had a hole in a water passage in the timing cover. but once i started working on that, it was a big chain, id have to fix something else and so on.
