Local Car Show Pics And Viper Nationals

Whoa whoa, calm down. Maybe ask for a little information before you go off on me?

Ok, THIS WAS A ONE DAY EVENT, so there is no "test and tune"..
And I'm sorry maybe I didn't get the whole correct title.."DUNLOP - Viper Nationals"

And I was there, and no they couldn't drive. Not only was it the reaction times, you could see it. And if their making over 900rwhp and running 12's+ I feel sorry for them and they need their money back. These people were obviously rich people who drove their Vipers in and went down the track for fun. NOT ALL OF THEM, but a mass majority. A few you could tell actually do this with their car and spent time doing it...it showed.

Of course they could drive circles around me! My grandma could drive circles around me in a Viper. Maybe i need a video and you would know what I'm talking about. The guys in the little civic hatchbacks could drive better. 6/10 times a Viper went down that track you heard someone grind a shift (pretty sure it wasn't on purpose, maybe wrong again), etc.

I'm sorry I was wrong about the "2005 Viper"..someone say that around me, I am no Viper expert, so I took their word. I apologize. It was that new body style, maybe 2004. SORRY.

I was not bashing anyone with a viper. I have the utmost respect for them. I was stating what I saw this day, and giving info on the event I went to. Maybe I should have cleared it up better.

I'm sorry if it seemed like i was attacking you, I wasnt. My post was a little harsh but I didnt mean it to be, it was nothing personal....

What track was this at? because the V10 nats were in Columbus Ohio and ive never heard of the Dunlop Viper nationals (doesnt mean it doesnt exist, and I guess it could be possible for them to be at the same track)...the Street tire shootout was at night the first day(i believe) and the test and tune was during the day...the big boys raced on saturday, there was also autocross. I believe the fastest time ran was SVS ran a 9.2.....John Hennessey's 8 second car was not there....

Edit: btw the V10 nationals were held at National Trail Raceway on Autgust 6-7...and it was covered by ESPN 2 and will be on TV pretty soon...

Yeah, my boss had a 96 GTS Viper and he said it was hard as hell to drive. So he sold it. :D I think he was just afraid of it.
they are difficult to drive on the edge...they have incredable limits as far as both acceleration and handling go but they bite back without much warning...it takes serious skill to drive them at the edge...

Yeah, I don't think he had the skill needed or the time to learn. He owns a restaraunt and a construction business . Plus he has kids and a wife. And he is very hands on with the businesses. ( He was scared of it too. :D )
I never got to see it. :notnice:

But the owner of the building next to where I work has a GTS-ACR. :worship:
I was taking out the trash one day and he came rumbling through our parking lot and parked it right next to the dumpster. I was like, "damn 460 hp huh?" "Nice!" And he said," no, I sent it to Hennesey and it puts out 650 N/A" . It was the baddest mofo I think I've seen and I took a real long break and just drooled a circle around it. :worship: :worship:

Hmm. I believe we are talking about the same event now. Because there was the Viper autocross, which was pretty cool. It was held at National Trail Raceway.

Maybe i just didn't watch enough races or I got there too late in the day, I'm not sure. I just remember every time i sat down and watched I saw no one pull below a 12. I'm pretty sure there were a lot faster Vipers there because as I walked around and looked and the TWIN TURBO vipers :hail2: there is no way they only go 12's.

Sorry for jumping to conclusions about everyone who was there, I just didn't watch enough most likely.

Vipers are still pretty. :hail2:

BTW I guess Dunlop was just a sponsor. That's what it said on the sight so i thought maybe this was a different event.
