Lokar throttle Lokar pedal assy replacement for 65 - 70

Does this "work" appreciably better? Or it is one of those "More money than brains" things?

Not sure, just wondering if anyone had bought one and what their experience was. The 65-70 stock pedal assy has some strength issues, especially after 40 years of use. Mine had a considerable amount of flex on it.

Looks pretty nice to me. Clean install as well. Considering that TCP pedal covers are close to $100 (if even still available) I would be interested.

Doesn't Reen install those in his cars?

I modified Lokar's Chevy brake & clutch pedal pads and use their Eliminator floor-mount gas pedal before this stuff came out. I'll probably use these on at least one of the fastbacks I'm building since they're EFI and that's a slick cable setup.

Aww, dat billut stuf don' mak dat 'turd run no fasta Tod

(hehehe)

I thought this bullit billit stuff had all kinds of go fast in it.......

Larry, you know I am a function over form guy anyway, my foot is just so heavy that the original is a flexin' a bit when I drop the hammer.......

Just want to make sure I am getting that carb all the way open.....

I think I'd take a piece of sheetmetal and bend it up to brace the stock one and weld it to it. Or take a piece of tubing or steel rod and weld it close to the pedal and up towards the top end. That would triangulate the assembly. On my fairlane, I plan on building my own pedal and covering the pedal with some small hole expanded metal. I'll also be building the clutch and brake pedals. The clutch pedal will pivot off the floor as it will go across and thru the side of the tunnel, thus avoiding the Z-bar or using a cable. I'm thinking of mounting the master cylinder up under the dash facing the rear. The dash will be removable and it'll clean up under the hood.

I may just take te whole thing out and have my buddy build one for me out of small square tubing. We'll see, if he is busy then I may try this Lokar thing.

I don't know, have many projects to do in coming months with the car, needs a new cage and based on my first experiance I know exactly how I want this one, gonna go 10 point instead of 6 this time to prepare for my future dart block build...... My OEM block is on the edge....

if someone wnats a budget version just to get rid of the mechanical linkage the 69/70 pedal assembly uses a cable and is a good option especially for EFI conversions. it won't be as pretty as the lokar setup but it will just as functional.

don't you need an adaptor? between the firewall and hte pedal itself?
