Longer pushrods for Gt40 heads?

I was told by a buddy that I need to buy the comp cams hardened pushrods which are a little longer so I can quiet my rockers down. I need a part number tho, are you guys familiar with it?
Thanks

PS, I have an e-cam. My rockers make a good amount of noise with the hood open, and I was told I needed longer rods, is this true?

I know there is a company that sells a shirt with that on the front. Never found much humor in it myself.

Only way to know if you need longer pushrods is to use and adjustable pushrod to check the length.

One possibility if that your rockers are just adjusted incorrectly. I would start there.

+1. Also that sig thing is kinda funny in a weird morbid way....but nothing to show off to people unless you really feel that way, in which case it would not be funny at all - just scary:shrug:

I was going to be nice, but then I read your sig. Is being a smartass really necessary when you have nothing better to add to the thread? And yes, it is funny.

Nacho, you should be able to get away with using the stock pushrods with GT40 heads, but you won't know until you check, honestly. FRPP's catalog and website both have nothing that mentions the use of different pushrods, so you may be able to get away with adjusting with shims.

Thanks Matt, good thing YOU have a sense of humor. I guess I'll just stick to the people who know how to laugh.

On the pushrod thing, I don't think the shims will do anything cause the rods are said to be smaller. I need longer ones but I don't know what size.
I take it you have irons and not the pedistal mount aluminums.
Have you installed them with the stock pushrods and checked the contact patch on the valve tip. See where it is and it should tell you what direction to go. Always get new pushrods regardless of how the stock ones look, you never know when a weak one is going to bend!
