lol do you even have LT's, not only has my stock starter been fine, i've actually removed it without loosening the headerbolts. i do need to tighten the bolts up about every 6 months though.

do you realize my car is a different model and year than yours? and no matter what, in my experience, every car is different anyway

i wasn't trying to scare anyone away from getting longtubes, just wanted him to know about some issues that could arise when doing the installation (something i wish someone had warned me about) for the record i LOVE my longtubes and think they were well worth it, i'm running wrapped and heat-painted BBK longtubes and a prochamber and i love the setup, i'd say go for it as well

while the headers are out you could wrap the starter in heat reflective material and wrap/coat the headers to keep heat down.

I often wonder if wrapping a starter up is good for the starter life. Would it not hold it a little heat?

Also remember emissions will now be a real issue...Lt's are not a good idea when emission testing is common. Time it takes to swap out the exhaust in order to pass emissions is not worth the 10-15 Hp that you gain...I run them...I've swaped them....huge pain, and one seriously injured hand.

I passed emissions with them, as well as a friend's HCI car! Both of us made shoty Hpipes using cut stockers so we only had two crappy cats!

Depends on the emission test facility...Ontario Canada is one of many hardnosed testing areas.

Yeah, I'll ask him. Is it Mac's that only have AOD clearance issues, or is it most long-tubes?

the only ones i could find that people said would fit around my C4 were the hooker super comp's...even then it is a TIGHT fit and you have to go with an aftermarket steering knuckle, thats even with the seperate primaries.

I found out that they're BBK, so I'm good.
