Hey, Im haveing my friend help me install longtubes headers. He said that it is going to be making my floorboard a lot hotter, and I should insulate it. Do I really need to do it? If so how many of you have done it before? I think I dont really need to do it. And with a completely stock car will LT's perform better than shorties.

Now that is interesting, insulate your floorboards... never heard that one before. I just ordered a set of mac longtube headers off ebay for $235 shipped. They have the HTS coating and i can't wait.

Yes longtubes are better than shorties, and you will not be disappointed. What kind did you get?

One more note, in the most recent MM&FF magazine, they give you a complete step by step (with pics) install guide for new headers, on a 95 GT. not sure if you have this car or a SN95 model, but it will be extremely helpful for me. The hardest part will be getting your old headers off. With the 10 year old bolts rusted to. Be careful not to strip the head or break it! It sucks to have to take it to a shop.....I know.

i disagree. im gonna say the LT's going in is the hardest part :D . just get a rubber mallet and be prepared to do a lot of brainstorming to get it in there. i like many others has to jack up the engine a lil bit for clearance...just a lil bit tho
