Here are some civics doing 11's with basic bolt on's, no power adders:

11's in the 1/8 that is!

Read the captions on this one:

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/civic/0/4cdff788-544d-4984-85d9-5dc72f49b90d.htm

Look at the blistering speeds these hero's get to!
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/civic/0/8fe3d87b-5539-4b8e-b621-5f8200fb5e78.htm Notice how the traffic in the back window stays up with them.

Now, heres that amazing fast civics with the H22 Prelube engine in it. Wow, that was definatly worth it. Almost cracked a full 100mph in the 1/4!!!

So, you go all out, motor swap, full bolt on's, and this is what it will yield you:

http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Honda/1/d30a1900-d416-45ef-9bd3-15f2e8a41667.htm

And look at this crap, they do a blowby on a camaro (a very rare 406cid V6 camaro, don't want to run into one of these!) that isn't even racing them, but still get passed.

This hazbollah rocket is more accurate than this full out race CRX is fast:

So you get a civic, and put on a turbo and everything, and go out huting for 4.6 GT convertables, this is the killing you'll achive:

An H22 in a hatch will trap higher then 100mph with a good driver. I've personally done this swap and can vouch for this...

I have a 93 hatch with a single cam turbo setup. Engine is 100% stock minus arp headbolts and I have no problem with 5.0's with gears/cam/intake manifolds/headers... Remember. Just because you found a video of some punks who bolted up some crap and went "hunting" as you put it, doesn't mean this is how ALL Honda's are. You can spend all the money in the world on any car and make it fast. You can also spend money on horsepower all day, but if you can't get it to the ground, you aren't going to achieve much.

it's all a matter of choice. i have a buddy that puts all his money into his eclipse and he's got an 11 sec daily driver that stil gets decent gas mileage.personally I would rather start out with four extra cylinders, but hey whatever floats your boat

The civic won. Both are CFT cars, from what Ive heard the black mustang talks alot of crap. Ive seen both cars in person at the track, both are FAST.

The black mustang is the supra slayar which yielded 1,000rwhp and 1,100ftlbs at 30psi. He only was running 13psi right there and look how hard it was for him to hook.

And you can also polish a turd all day long, and at the end of the day its still a turd. Fact is Civics are crappy little econo boxes with no style, whatsoever. That goes for basically every Honda with the exception of the S2000.

I just put "civic" in the search and that is just a few of the one's I watched, I didn't just pick out the "punks" but then again, punks make up for a majority of the honda crowd. What I picked out was typical. The power to the ground comment I do agree with, such as that turbo mustang that got beat. I don't understand why they would show the comparison when it was sitting on a set of low profile radials and I guess turning down boost. I don't even know they showed up at the track.

My point of this thread was to simply point out the "typicalness" of what is claimed, vs what is real. All I hear about is people talking about how easy and simple it is to make these econoboxes fast, but when you actually see it in person, it doesn't add up.

yup a lot of smack talk, from both sides of the fence... I had a "friend" tell me he'd whoop my ass in a race since his dx had an engine swap... Well he ran a 15.8 at the 1/4... Nothing much there.

I'm buying a civic for the MPG, as what the car was created for.

Ummmm, yeah, then you'll put on a CAI just to "give it a little more" than a fart can so you can hear it.... then some stikers and racing stripes just "to set yours apart" and before we know it, your a full blown flamer!!! :jester:

No really, now, who was it on this site that argued that a honda CR-V motor in a civic woudl run 12's?

Far too many close minded people on this site. What happened to car enthusiast? Instead, all we ever see are crap talkers. I happen to own two civics (gasp) and two Mustangs. The 88 was my recent purchase, but my first car was a 66 Mustang. I still own a 65 Mustang and enjoy the cars very much. The fact of the matter is, the Civic run 13's on low boost, fires up every day, and STILL gets me 30mpg even when I race it. On top of the fact that it stops faster, handles better, and has a much nicer turning radius. Is it stock? I guess that depends on what you consider stock. Its basically comprised of Integra parts (suspension/brakes) and a turbo kit. Don't like the way it looks? Thats fine... but to see SO MANY people on here talking about how "rice" is crap and never will be fast, etc.. etc.. is plain retarded. When I first came here, I kept to myself... but after seeing so many immature comments, I just had to say something. Its not about who's car is "faster" then the next guys much anymore. There is ALWAYS someone out there faster then you. Its about what makes you happy. Just because the next guy doesn't agree with it doesn't give them the right to stereotype a group of car enthusiast into a catageory of failures, loosers, ricers, etc.

The sad thing is, I can already see how many people are going to attack me and tell me how stupid I am just because of what I drive..

I said a guy with an integra with AWD(gotta respect the time to it takes to amke an AWD integra), motor swap, and turbo should be ruinning high 10s. he had it on lower boost for the street makin 400 hp, up the boost and runs 10s.
