Look at these fast civics! Makes me want to sell the stang.

Ummmm, yeah, then you'll put on a CAI just to "give it a little more" than a fart can so you can hear it.... then some stikers and racing stripes just "to set yours apart" and before we know it, your a full blown flamer!!! :jester:

No really, now, who was it on this site that argued that a honda CR-V motor in a civic woudl run 12's?

A CRV motor is nothing special. 2.0l, non vtec.. good for 140hp. Whoopty. Anyways, now we are arguing about how it takes an engine swap to get a Civic into the 15's? lol.. I'll wait and see where this one goes before I say anything.

I know my 2000 Civic EX weighed roughly 2500lbs and I'm pretty sure the little HX (or DX?) hatches weighed less. Most of the guys around here will put a 180-200 hp motor in them and then either turbo it or set it up for Nitrous... pretty quick little cars. A guy I used to work with was running 8.7's in the 1/8with a Teggy 1.8 rebuilt with performance parts and a 75 shot. He never got it running right (computer problems) or he claimed he'd have it lower than that.

I just don't see it being worth the money and time. Plus the kids that are 16-18 years old put stickers and all kinds of stupid crap on there cars and then talk smack about them. It gives guys with real brains a bad name.

I'm tired of this debate... time to derail.

I couldn't agree with you more. I hate stickers/wings/body kits/huge rims, etc. The weight you posted for the EX sounds about right. The HX is a touch lighter and the DX hatch even a touch lighter yet. The lightest of the hatches is the CX (the one I have).. Its supposed to show 2090 in stock trim. Mine was 2200 on the local track scale with a GSR engine, LSD, full interior. I'm sure its a touch lighter now that it has a single cam although the turbo does add a bit of weight.

FWD is not setup for drag racing, I completely agree. The whole reason I began messing with imports was the whole mentality so many people displayed about how you could never make a 4 cylinder fast. My GSR engine was all motor, using all Honda parts minus the cams. It did 13.8 @ 102mph in the 1/4 on street tires with full interior. I never did get the chance to run slicks, but the trap was there for low 13's. I don't know how you look at it, but that seems pretty damn good in my eyes for a 1.8l. A lot of guys just do basic bolt on crap, turbo kits, superchargers, whatever you like, but they forget the most important thing, tunning.

Also, I'm not trying to debate. I'm trying to shed some light on this whole "ricer" controversy which seems to be so heavily plagued with stereotypes around this place.

I like those new *Famous Bowls* from KFC....

Oh yea... Poporn chicken, corn, taters, cheese, and gravy all piled into one bowl...

Haven't tried that... can't wait to get home though...

PIZZA and CAKE

All I have to do is put up with my in laws :notnice:

The KFC bowl is greatly overated. The diameter of the bowl is approximately only 3.5 inch at best. Very small for a grown mans (growing teens) appetite. While the combination is quite swell, the quantity is too inefficient for use, thats where 2 of em come in!!

Its a proven fact that 2 is better than one. After all God gave us 2 eyes 2 ears 2 arms 2 legs and gave women 2 boobs. :rlaugh:

Those KFC bowls suck. I'm not one to mix my food, so I don't dig them too well. Too small as well.

I don't really hate other cars that much, it's the attitudes I hate. I don't understand how anyone drives small cars, I drive a silverado everyday and consider that a little on the small side. Like the KFC bowles, its just not my thing. Like I said, the attitude I can't stand. Since I have been between jobs (IOW: I've been and unemployed bum spending too much time on BS) I have watched a lot of streetfire. It's so amazing how you read the comments. All of them claim to have some badass import, and if you don't dress like a queer, and your white, then they call everyone a redneck. Talking about how american muscle is out.... lol, whatever. And the Soooo-pra arguments is so stupid. No matter how slow the import is, they will comment "that was so fast" and I'm thinking "I could have pushed it to the 60ft line faster". One idiot said that the skyline was banned from the LaMans race because it was just too fast, LOL. We had a member here, went by screne name Tomato, he posts a video of his Dodge Omni against an idiot with a viper that had no clue what he was doing, and then claimed his car was faster than a viper. That is what ricers do. They run into a 5.0, running like Foxfan's car used to run (16.8) and then talk about how they smoked a 5.0 as though they went against a healthy one.

Here are some civics doing 11's with basic bolt on's, no power adders:

http://videos.streetfire.net/recentvideos/0/0554efe6-4772-4229-bf02-3dd3c8f7ef23.htm

11's in the 1/8 that is!

Read the captions on this one:

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/civic/0/4cdff788-544d-4984-85d9-5dc72f49b90d.htm

Look at the blistering speeds these hero's get to!
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/civic/0/8fe3d87b-5539-4b8e-b621-5f8200fb5e78.htm Notice how the traffic in the back window stays up with them.

Now, heres that amazing fast civics with the H22 Prelube engine in it. Wow, that was definatly worth it. Almost cracked a full 100mph in the 1/4!!!
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/civic/0/bc4b6826-16eb-4844-803c-608ef29d77e5.htm

So, you go all out, motor swap, full bolt on's, and this is what it will yield you:

http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Honda/1/d30a1900-d416-45ef-9bd3-15f2e8a41667.htm

And look at this crap, they do a blowby on a camaro (a very rare 406cid V6 camaro, don't want to run into one of these!) that isn't even racing them, but still get passed.

http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Honda/2/b5c81b77-bfba-405e-a2a0-fe1974b22762.htm

This hazbollah rocket is more accurate than this full out race CRX is fast:

So you get a civic, and put on a turbo and everything, and go out huting for 4.6 GT convertables, this is the killing you'll achive:

So this is the turbo mustang vs. turbo civic vid... notice the wheels on the mustang.

Wow, Import bashing today I see!! I like it.

I love how they say "only has a motor swap and a turbo kit" So what if I swap in a 4.6 32v and put "just a little turbo kit" on it? Oh say can you see 700 rwhp on pump gas with A/C???? Or how about just a HCI 302 with a 10 psi turbo for 500 rwhp? That should take car of 99.9999% of all civics out there.

I've owned a bit of everything. The last project was a civic coupe. Full tilt LS/Vtec build. The car was a hell of alot of fun to drive and the zex kit led to some confirmed kills on unspecting American cars and imports. It had around 220 to the front wheels and hooked up nicely on the street. Currently my stang (without the turbo) doesnt like to hook at all. (this is my next correction after the body is done.) I can actually say I have learned alot from some intelligent import guys. One noted item I rarely see in stangs is a turbo timer. Hot oil in a turbo tends to cake, eventually leading to failure. The turbo timer allows for the motor to run (for a short time) to allow the oil and turbo to cool. Good stuff. Hell with it, if its fast and fun to drive...drive the damn thing, but respect other cars that have had some work put in them. This does not include bolting on an exhaust, wing or paisting stickers over it. Seems to be this crowd that talks the most smack.

Oh, and before the flaming begins...the civic was sold for the HP kit I now own:nice:
