I don't know how many of you or if any actually keep track of the Grand Am series...seems like me and 10 other people on the planet watch it....but these are bad A$$!!

Will look good next to my SpeedGT series, STS-V and C6R!

I guess I am #12 then. Going to VIR next weekend (4/22) to see the Cup race. Entry list shows 15 Mustangs in the field. Can't wait. Have you guys seen this race Mustang? Picture of it being tested at Fontana; also has been tested at Sebring. It was built by Multimatic for Ford Racing. Supposed to have about 550 HP. Was being tested by Tommy Drissi and Greg Pickett; Paul Gentilozzi may get a turn testing it also. Looks like it might be adaptation of the FR500C to Grand Am GT of World Challenge GT class? Of course, we can always hope it is a preview of a revived 2009 Trans Am Series featuring Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers!

Those little models are pretty neat. I'm going to the Grand Am cup in Laguna Seca in a couple of weeks. They should have those models available for sale at the event.
I went last year one of the Mustang pulled out a come back victory that day and beat the Turner BMW.

Are tickets still avail and when is it? I thought I missed it!

Plenty of tickets should be available. They took one of the other races out of California (California Speedway in Fontana) this year. So this will be the only Grand Am Cup in California this year.
I usually get our tickets the day of the race. The Mustangs will be racing Saturday May 6th. They will have some GTOs this year as well so it should be pretty cool to see them and the Mustangs going at it.

#13, I am a race driver my self and it is amazing that ford was so competitive in the first year. they will only get faster.

i can only go on the 7th. I like the prototype cars too, but no Stangs on Sunday? In the mixed class racing?

Nope no Stangs sunday in the race with the protos.

I got to go to the race. It was freaking awesome!! The guys I was rooting for didn't do too hot Boris got involved in a wreck, so did the 5 mustang. We flew out to California and spent the weekend camping at Laguna Seca. I had a blast. I think my fiancé thought something was wrong with me. I was jumping, whooping and hollering during all the practices, qualifiers, and races. I couldn't help it.

I got to drive around the track in a 96 Porsche on sunday. The track looks a little different in person. The corkscrew is particularly intimidating. It's a huge drop that none of the racing games I've played have really done justice. Wow it was great. I wish I could have snuck off with on of the race teams, and spent the rest of this year wrenching. So it’s really lit a fire under my butt. I’m going to get the stang back together find a way to go racing.

That race was good but man caution after caution near the end! I was worried they were going to finish while under yellow!

Yeah, there were a lot more cautions than I wanted to see. My Fiance wanted to see a spectacular wreck, but luckly there weren't any that were too bad.

I'm looking forward to watching the race on speedvision this weekend. They are showing the Laguna race saturday and the one at Phoenix on sunday. I've got the computer recordin both of um.
