Ok, as some of you know, I bought a Saleen intake off of a guy from Craigslist. So I get home from a mini vacation today and go pick it up from FedEx... Get it home... open it... and I'm a little in shock... I take it out of the box... Look at it... Look it over again... I can't believe this... This intake is BRAND NEW. It's never been bolted on a car or used ever... How did I score this??? Just not my luck LOL. I thought it was used, and from the very small picture I saw of it, just thought it was really clean. All the runners have not one sign of fuel or carbon, underside of the lower is so clean you could eat off of it... And the upper looks like it just came out of the factory with not one scratch on the powdercoating. Did I just score huge here? Best part is it came with a 70MM throttle body... Never used. It looks like it came direct from Saleen all assembled and ready to bolt on. Even came with the tstat housing, unused with a brand new Ford 192 degree thermostat in it... (Looks strangely like a Mr. Gasket High Flow). Here are some pics... I'll be throwing it on Ebay tomorrow as a 10 day listing, hoping to get atleast what I paid for it (which was pretty low to begin with).

Not to rain on your parade, and i'm not saying this is so, but i bought a used Wieand Stealth that was actually painted black and chipped and looked horrible, but i stripped it with aircraft grade stripper, and it looked BRAND NEW, and i mean seriously inside and out it looked like brand new aluminum. Actually that's it in my sig but you can't really see the detail. In your case, probably not so, but just something that i would look for if i were buying an intake that was listed as brand new and not used.

Look in the cardomain link for closer up pics.

I agree, but I know what I'm looking for. None of the water passages have ever had coolant flow through them... There is no indication it has ever been used. All the nuts, bolts, studs are brand new. Example... The EGR passages on the EGR space and lower intake have no carbon build up of any sort... I have sent things to the sand blaster, and you can alway tell it's been done. There is still little spots it can't get... Things like where the EGR valve attach... New. Gasket areas are new, and milled. Not scraped clean or sanded. This thing is NOS if I've ever seen it.

so how do those intake flow? they look like they will flow some nice air. they always said the truck intakes flowed more, but was such a hassle to make one work with a stang. the upper is goofy and the TB is in a diff spot.

isnt the holley intake based off the truck intake too??

Yep, the Systemax is based off the truck lower... They def flow a lot better... Great for higher RPM or higher displacement motors, or supercharged/turbocharged applications

don't sell it, don't use it, it will eventually be one of only afew in that condition. keep it as a shrine or something.
I wish I could. Just don't have the funds as of right now to hang on to it. Maybe once I'm into a little more money, i can do that... Speaking of which... I found a nice set of Titanium Saleen Fox pedal covers today :D
