Looking at new wheels, any opinions?

Looking to get some new wheels and tires. Since i got a new 9" rear end that is the perfect width for late model wheels, i figure thats the way to go. I'm thinking 18x9 in the back and 17x8 up front. I know many people don't like the look of the big wheels on classics, but i think my car can pull it off (definitly have enough under the hood to back up the bling bling ).

Here are the choices im looking at (not the right sizes, but just the style).

Doubt i can afford chrome on some of these, and i might buy them used. What do yal think would look best?

I like the pseudo-retro look of the Mach 1s, but When given a choice, a deep-dish wheel always looks better on a Mustang. Bullitts are common enough and you could easily find some deals on e-bay.

what size tires and rims are those on ur car currently, they look mighty meaty in the back, just curious.. if that fits like that stock and what will you be doing with your old wheels?

Those are 16x8 edelbrock 409's on all corners. 255/50/16 in the back and 225/50/16 up front. Everything is stock in that picture. I agree that the deep dish look much better, however it will be much easier to get late model wheels rather than get axles and the housing shortened. I've been wanting bigger wheels anyway. I will be selling the wheels i have now if i can get hold of some new ones.

i also like the late mach 1 wheels. would be interesting. ive never seen them on a classic. btw, glad to see you got your 9 inch. i still havent had the time to put in the 8, but im sure the upgrade will be worth the wait

alright matt ill let you know.

The 9" i got was screwed up. I was told i was getting a 3.73 track lock. I get it, turns out its a 2.81 open, and the ring gear and pinion aren't aligned right anyhow so it would not turn smoothly. I had a nice talking to the guy, and he said he's gonna find me something with a 3.00-3.55 gear in the next few weeks or give me $100 back (paid 150 for the housing+axles+pumpkin). So, i put back in the old 8 incher with 2.79 open . Gonna be a dog off the line, but should pull hard up top. And i get a chance to break a rear end, should be fun .

i have never seen them. youd probably have to use spacers. those wheels are fairly new and for newer fords right now, so i dont think they are making them.
