looking for cams

my fiancee' wants to get me something for me for my car for christmas. i am looking at a couple. COMP CAMS XTREME ENERGY XE270 and COMP CAMS XTREME ENERGY 262 . the xe270 is good from 1800- 5800, and the ex626 is good from 1400 to 5400. which is better to go in a stock stang and i will be getting new valve spring too. but i want a procharger in a couple of years would it hurt to put vt cams in now. need info any at all would help thank you

there have been piston to valve clearance issues with the 270s because there is timing advance already in them and it has caused problems unless special care is taken at install. the 262s are a good cam, but they wont have the sound of the 270s (if thats what you want). If you are getting blown, consider a custom grind cam or a blower specific off the shelf grind. smaller cams, like the 262 or the vt 1 will work fine with a blower as well. It just depends on how far you want to go. i do have a couple sets around if you are interested.
