Well since i hate the car that i have now and really regret buying..(first car, young, stupid, and didnt know at thing about cars) it was just the first thing i saw that i liked, happened to be a mustang but a really bad one. Now that i have decided that i am going to go the turbo swap route i am going to ditch my current car and look for a better 4 banger. I am going to look for a fairly low milage 91,92,or93 with a 5 speed and as low milage as i can. With any luck at all i will find a car that has a really good body, and interior. I hope to find something that has a shot or near dead engine so that it will be cheap. But my question is....would it be harder to do turbo swap on 92 or 93 oppsed to a 88 or 89 , or is it just pretty well the same? So when i find my car I will also be looking for a turbo motor. What is best? I had plans of leaving the motor stock for awhile because the swap will empty my pockets. I was think 87 or 88 TC but what is best?

If your going to buy a car just to do the swap, why not just buy a fox body GT? They are pretty cheap now days and can be gotton for around 1500-2500.

Wiring is more complex for the 91-93 swap I believe.

honestly, the best years to buy the car for are probably 89 or 90, if your gonna eventually do the swap, 88 horse won't matter that much, and the wiring will be simpler, and for some odd reason, at least here, after 1990, all car prices just plummit, no matter the condition

I mean buy a EFI GT like a 87-93' GT mustang for around 1500-2500. I see 89' and 90's for 2500.00 a lot.

So you meant like a 5.0 GT. I think that if i bought a 5.0 then i woul just start to like it so much that i would never get around to building a 4cyl

I don't like the 5.0 idea...it would make the swap MUCH more difficult.

Just forget the swap and buy an SVO, then mod it. You'd save money and hassles.

I didn't mean to buy a 5.0L to swap in to your car...I meant if your going to buy a 90-93' car to mod why not just buy a GT 5.0L EFI and DRIVE it It will probly cost you the same to buy a 90-93' 2.3L mustang and 87-88' TC but want have to swap anything out.

Now there another idea that 140clix has, just buy a SVO and drive it Heck my SVO is smoother to drive than my 93' LX

I actually want to do the swap for the fun of it. I want to have a car that I can be proud of all the work that I put into it and something that I wiould keep for aslong as I possibly could.

Nothing wrong with that. I just like to get a good deal and we are all basicaly after power So when you started talking about buying another car (90-93 mustang) I figured I'd throw my two cents in since the 91-93's will probly cost you not to much more than a GT.
