I plan on installing some common bolt ons this winter to give my 99 gt a little more pep. Car is just a summer daily and have no big plans ie. blower nitrous for it. Car is stock except for C spring and Mac catback and k&n and other minor mods not worth mentioning.

I was hoping some people could give me some input on past experiences they had with the manufacturer, performance ect.

First off a BBK cold air pipe, does anyone know the benefit of mounting it in the fender. I would like mine to stay in the engine bay.
4.10 gears by frrp, royal purple lube with new bearing and rebuild kit from American muscle.
Off-road X or H pipe not too sure of manufacture yet, would like the quietest not catted available, pro chamber would be awesome I think
SCT Elininator chip with tune from American Muscle, any used them before
Throttle Body+Plenum, ford racing 70mm in c&l plenum, possibly accufab, how much does it even matter?

Any input will be greatly appreciated

Ok, I'll start from the top.

Cold air. It doesn't come from a hot engine bay. Either put it in the fender, or leaver ur stock junk in there with a k&n drop in. The engine bay filter will loose power and possibly cause idle issues due to fan wash and such.

Great choice on the gears and lube. You didn't say whether its a manual or auto, should matter too much anyway if ur looking for a good sotp feel.

An h pipe should be a bit deeper and quieter than an x. Your mufflers will affect that more than anything. I have a mac h with flow 2 chambers out the tails and its very reasonable, but u hear it well when ur on the gas. A prochamber sounds SICK imho. This one is totally up to your preference. The power gained between models/brands is minimal on a basic bolt on car, they all do pretty good.

Your better off with a hand held programmer by sct or a predator, that way u can have tuners email u new tunes instead of snding the chip back and having down time.

As far as the plenum, accufab is better, but for the money spent and a basic bolt on car u can look at c&l or even a new trick flow combo from summitt, tb and plenum for like 250. can't beat that.

Hope this helps.

o/r midpipe and quiet are two things that don't go together. Leave the CAI in the engine bay, otherwise it will be a royal pita to clean the filter when it gets dirty and the gains are next to nothing.

thanks, dont really like the idea of the filter in the fender, so i just purchased a k&n Fipk,. Should this work well with the accufab tb and plenum, meaning fit and finish??

Good choice of gears and lube, especially if staying NA the 4.10 will pull hard for you.
I had BBK CAI and never really saw any gains, but it did look good.
Never used a chip, for the mods you are planning predator hand held makes it pretty easy for you to do yourself. I hope this helps a little.

hopefully by the end of the week I can get my hands on a magnaflow x pipe, anyone ever heard one with a mac catback?? Also, what did everyone else pay for their gear and rebuild kits??

Mac cat backs sound ok. I'm not a fan personally but they are not annoying, just don't personally like it. Everyone likes something diff. The magnaflow mid is a nice piece.

If ur stuck on an engine bay filter make sure u get one that guards against fan wash. I personaly hate them but again, on a bolt on car, gains are minimal for a ferder filter.

Gears. I paid 100 bucks for the bearing kit and shims/such. It did NOT include new outer wheel bearings, expect another 70 bucks for those or so if u get the nice ones that change where the bearing rides on the axle. I paid 200 for an install once and got it free the next time. really depends on ur area, and who u know. :D
