I like the fact that they are ground on the same base circle as the stock cam. No need to run around finding different length pushrods.
The ramp rate on the Ford cams is not as aggresive as some other cams so it's easier on the springs,lifters and valvetrain. You are less likely to run into problems such as coil bind, valve float and other related valve train issues.
It just seems to take less work to install one.
I selected the F cam because it I plan on adding a turbo in the future and is regarded as the best off the shelf turbo cam on turbomustangs.com
Some guy there made 1200 hp with a 302 turbo and an F cam.
As far as motorsport cams being old, so are some of the COMP cams, Crower 15510, 15511, 15512, Crane 2030, 2031, 2040, Steeda 18 and 19 and other cams commonly used in 5.0s. No one seems to point those out? Yet some of these are older than the F cam.
