i already have a project 67 mustang and have had a 65 fastback before, so stangs arent new to me....question tho...

do i get like a 02-03 GT or a 2001 bullitt??? it is definitely going to be supercharged...my goal is 500ish streetable hp.

Not sure about the bullit but the GTs do not have forged internals. Save max HP on a non-forged 4.6 is mid 400s.

I would go with a mach 1. Same motor as a cobra minus the factory blower.

If you like the resto look. I see where you'd like the bullitt however I personal wouldn't mod it to death.
The mach1's have the 4v in them solid rear and the shaker hood, odds are if you LOOK you'll find one for not much more than a gt or bullitt. Then you'll be starting with a better platform wish I would have. Of course then there are cobra's any 4v is a blast. Weather it's the 96-98's or the 99-01's or the 03-04's.

But if a 2v is what you really want I'd go gt no sense in paying more for the bullitt. Just to hop it up.

Machs do not have the same motor has a 2003/04 Cobra sans blower. The Mach engine is similar to the 2001 Cobra. NOT forged like the 2003/04 Cobra.

ok, heres the deal, i dont want to spend more than 18k....including tt&l which is about $800....im also considering like a 2001 lightning, simply cuz im getting my 67 coupe from my parents place in like 6 months.

so basically, that leaves out a mach 1 and cobra

From the Bullitt Archive, what makes a Bullitt a Bullitt?

Engine and transmission modifications

* The new cast aluminum intake manifold has an increased runner diameter to maintain low-end torque and provide a broader power curve for increased top-end performance.
* A twin 57mm-bore throttle body replaces the GT 65 mm throttle body, allowing for quicker throttle response and increased peak flow.
* To reduce parasitic losses, the alternator pulley was increased to 66 mm and the water pump pulley was increased to 140 mm.
* The exhaust system has been retuned to increase flow approximately 20% and give the Bullitt a new distinct sound.
* All Mustang Bullitts will have the new TR3650 transmission and clutch assembly that provides improved shift quality. A new 11-inch flywheel and clutch assembly have been added to increase torque capacity and reduce clutch pedal efforts.

Exterior

* Pony on grill is centered in a blacked out coral instead of chrome.
* Does not come with a spoiler.
* Brushed aluminum gas filler door.
* Molded front mud guards.
* Different Rocker Panels
* Lowered by 3/4"
* Red Brake calipers.
* Fake rear brake venting is only extruding and does not have the honeycomb plastic grill.
* Bullitt Badge on Trunk lid.
* Rolled exhaust tips.
* Molded c-pillars sweep forward instead of straight down.

Interior

* Brushed aluminum looking shifter bezel.
* Brushed aluminum shifter knob.
* Door sills with BULLITT logo.
* Retro dash has white lighting and closely indexed speedometer.
* Seats are stitched to emulate the style from the 60's..
* New stainless steel pedal covers are positioned to provide better heel-to-toe relationship.

BOOST!!!!!!

the only thing holding the 2v to around 400rwhp is the internals. i'd bet if you take a stock 2v (h/c/i) and throw some forged guts into it i'd bet it'll max out somewhere in the neighborhood of around 500rwhp with enough boost and fuel

It will be alot easier to hit your 400-500 rwhp goal with a 4V platform.
You should seriously consider a 03/04 Mach 1 or 99/01 Cobra and plan on
adding lots of boost or a large shot of nitrous! :nice:

im either sticking with the bullitt and 400hp, or a lightning....but i cant decide

im too into the bullitt look :D....my 67 will be my fast machine

its planned for a supercharged efi roller 393 stroker....tremec tko 600....3.73 locker mountaineer 8.8" rear....etc :D
