In last 10 days I have HUGE problem with hot starts, it loops at idle from 1500 - 700 a few times and than stall I try clean IAC ,MASS, IAT but nothing, same thing when I turn TwEECer on so problem isn't in tweecer and I have no vaccum leak, compresion is good too 175psi at all 8 cilynders
It start with loops for like 30-40 sec and if I keep foot on gas pedal after 30 sec idle get down on 900, but now it loops all the time , everytime whan I stop at light I have to play with gas pedal so ain't stall, people think I tryin to race them
This drive me crazy, like realy crazy
Plese help me out and don't tell me do something with Tweecer because hard drive in my laptop is dead so I have 3 tune on PCM and I can't change anything untill I get fix laptop and I don't wanna make tune on Desktop PC because I can't record what going on when I driving like I could do with laptop

the tweecer stuff is over my head. in terms of parts, have you cleaned the IAC? i would also check the cold ACT and ECT values.

my lame two cents. good luck.

The weather is getting colder and with the air being much colder it burns more efficiently. Perhaps you should replace the sensor located in the air intake tube. I believe I have read that they go bad, tell the EEC that it is always a certain temperature and it cant adjust for the REAL outside temperature. Just a thought.

check all linkange, pivot pins. my z28 used to do the same thing and it was the idle sensor or whatever it is callled attached to the side of your throttle bbody..it kinda looks like my cobra has the same component..ya it drove me crazy...get off the eway and sitting at a light it would rev up drop down then eventually would die....wait i,ll go look right now..ya it looks like the electrical unit at throttle butterfly..i would almost bet thats it

Ernan, to me it sounds like the 94-95 "idle surge and die" syndrome that most of see with a cam swap. Mine didn't show itself until about 2 weeks after I installed the cam. WHat is your idle speed set at right now with the tweecer?

my cam also lopes around like a bitch, if i start it when the car is cold it idles at 1000 and it runs fine but if i try to drive it, it seems like it is lagging or surging. if the car is hot or warm on start up the idle lopes around alot and have to rev it to keep it alive. but once it warms up it's fine, how do i fix that? would a dyno tune cure it? thanks sorry for hijacking ur thread but i was just goin to start one and noticed ur having the same problem.

I installed heads/cam like 6 months ago, I think I set idle on tweecer on 900

Well I did little bit researching and looks like guys haveing problems with IAC, IAT, Stator (pick up coil in distributor),
But I talk with my friend who know a lot s**t about Mustangs, and he said its fuel problem , something telling PCM to rich up and thats why I have problems

Where you finda IAC spacer, I know they making for fox body, but i don't think so fo 94-95

Well my problems starts when I switchd to Ford Racing spark wires 7 days ago, but I don't think so thats problem, I have gap my Autolite 2524 .042 when I installed heads, but doens't missing so spark plugs aren't problem, I tryed change Ignition module but same thing, today I will try put different coil and see what it does

i have the same problem on my 94 5.0, but mine has the stock h/c/i. if it helps at all the fitting that attaches to the intake and the other end goes to the pcv valve is constantly loose on mine so i use permatex ultra copper sealer on the fitting and it cures my hunting idle when it's hot. good luck...

Do a search on here. I have posted the ford number before. Here is another one. This is the same one I have. TRUST ME! THEY ARE THE SAME!!

Ernan, sorry i missed some stuff you had checked in your first post.

im not sure how much 'hot idle surging' you guys have - foxes have a bit of trouble with it. the only other thing that remotely comes to mind is cleaning the 10 pin connectors (if you guys have them). that has solved a couple guys' surging issues.

good luck bud.

Well today I restart PCM (unplug negatyve on battery for one hour) and no more loops all the time BUT just on hot start , now I have to find why just on HOT start I have that problem
i had the same problem for a while. warm start searching; it would die if i didn't give it gas; after about 15 seconds of driving it was fine again. really weird. when i set the idle to 800, it went away. also, if i turned the a/c on, it would go away. i never really figured out exactly what the problem was, because it went away with the idle at 800.

What is with that cleaning the 10 pin connectors ?
like i said, im not sure if you even have them. behind the Throttle body (toward the firewall) are two electrical connectors (look kinda like salt and pepper shakers). the connections get dirty and create all sorts of problems with fine tune engine management (issues from increased resistance, etc). a few folks have cleaned those connections to remedy idle surging.

good luck bud.
