Losing boost somewhere, this is soooo aggravating.

When I first got my blower on, I couldnt get it to boost past five pounds. Then last week(not even) I took a baseball bat and wedge it between the idler pulley and the alternator as leverage to get it as tight as possible. Then I put zip ties on all my vacaum lines going to and from my MSD 6btm and to my boost guage. I also put a hose clamp on the inlet cause I first forgot to in the first place. I got it to boost up to 8-9 but stopped in fear of blowing a head gasket. Later that night I told a freind to watch the gauge and tell me when it hits 10, it did and he said it would have gone farther if I didnt let off. Then today another freind wanted to go for a ride and the thing would NOT boost past 7-8. Tonight i spent the whole night mounting the gauges on the dash and took the car for a spin and now it wont boost past 5 again. What could be the problem of this? Whats a list of things I could do to get this thing to boost at 10 pounds or a lil above consistantly so I could get a dyno tune?

Thanks,

Oh and BTW, I tink my dog may have stole my ****e boot/bezzel, where can I get one?

Hmmmmmmm..... just got back from going around the block and I hit 9 pounds. Someone moved my boost retard to 3 instead of 1. I think my belt is still slipping though because once it hits 9 the needle bounces around quite a bit. What size belt do i need?

I've never tried this(I want to), but I saw in 5.0 mag they put some VHT on the belt and boost stayed consistent. It said in there that they would lose boost every 4-5 runs and then dab on some VHT and the belt would quit slipping. Worth a try.

well afm and i beleive wazzee make a tentioner that just bolts to the super chager and you just tighten the bolt on it and it will keep the belt tight..

Also from what i understand guages aren't always that accurate when it comes to boost.
