Loss of gears... this is going to be fun

So i was taking my buddy home last night... cruising up kent kangley and about half way to his house i try to slide it 3rd.. it grinds and pops out... at this point i thought i was too drunk to shift so i just put it in 4th and thought nothing of it.. untill i came to a stop, and had to put it in 1st... same thing. as soon as i started to release the clutch, it poped out of gear. so i tried shutting the car off and starting it in 1st... still grind and then pop out. i just dont understand what happend, was working fine all day to day, then all of a sudden bam no 1st and 3rd...

Well its a good thing i still have the tranny out of my parts car... i guess i found something to do this week... :nonono:

Is this a joke? Did you really just post in a public forum that you were drinking and driving?

Christ, first the thread with all the people driving without insurance and then this. It's people like you that make me not want to leave my house.

Edit: I see you're saying it WAS a joke. I hope you're not lying.

i had 3 drinks. i was no were near my limit it was a joke i thought of when i couldnt get it in gear. i was no were near intoxicated.

I see you edited out some name calling, eh? Yea, I saw that.

Anyway, now that you've somewhat redeemed yourself, welcome to the site. I hope you figure out your trans issue.

Something I would look into first is the shifter. 1st and 3rd operate on different sliders inside the trans, so I'm not quite sure why you'd have a problem in both at the same time unless its just a random coincidence. If the shifter isn't allowing you to push all the way forward, you could be only partially engaging those gears.
