Hi all I have been struggling to figure out what is going wrong with my na 2.3. when it gets to operating temp she looses a lot of torque. When starting from a stop the acceleration is very very sluggish and if I give more gas she'll start to buck, but once going she runs fine except for up hill where I have to down shift drastically any ideas on this????

MY car has an egr delete done due to running the ranger header, short ram intake,

Forgot to tell ya'll it's a 93 so has duel plugs and I just replaced the front coil it did nothing to help, also just had a new clutch put in last week. Oh and I am getting pretty terrible mpg too around 14 :(

Sounds like it's running just fine, no torque, downshifting to get up hills...

Did you do what your supossed to do with an illruning car? Checking Sparkplugs, filters, injectors. Maybe the TPS or VAM nees to be replaced on the 17year old car. Timing, maybe the belt needs to be replaced.

Sounds like a bad ICM (Ignition control module). Its located in the lower intake manifold, should be around $100 to replace.

Thanks to everyone, I think Dan P is on to something though with the ICM I remember replacing it a few years back and now that I think of it I think it is running similar to how it was when it needed to be replaced. Anyone have a brand to go with last time I just picked up the part from autozone and seems like everything I get from there needs replacing again.
