Not sure what the prob is but since this past friday on 3 seperate ocassions Ive have alot of white smoke blow out the back of the car. Its not a blown head gasket b/c the car is not over heating and theres theres no milky white stuff in the oil, that plus Im running 60# of Fuel w/ #30 Injectors and an FMU. It seems to do it when I semi get on it, like when leaving a toll booth and not hammering on it but giving it a good little pull, when I do that the white stuff just rolls out the back. It hasent done it under normal driving.

Any Ideas on what it could be  , maybe bad piston rings and its getting alot of oil blow by?? I dont know what it is or how serious the prob is nor at this point do I really care b/c if it makes it through the rest of the summer I hope that over the winter it will get a heart transplant w/ a stroked 331. Any thoghts on what it could be just fire away, at first I thought it was tire smoke but Im about 99.999% sure that its not tire smoke.

That's odd because that really does sound like a HG. Maybe it's very minor and just in the early stages of a blown gasket. Remember, the oil isn't going to have a milky white color to it, it looks like mixed oil and coolant, making it have a watery, light-brown color.

my friends car did that when his timing was off alot

no way its the timming, the spout is locked out at 19*

Ive checked the oil twice and it looks normal, mabye I need to take a closer look and I put about a few hundred miles on it since it first did it and its never over heated once, runs right where it always has. When it first did it there was ALOT of white smoke and I thought for sure I blew the HG and was going to become part of the 94/95 blow HG club. I dont possibly see how it could be a HG though since the FP is set at over 60LBS and Im running 30# injectors w/ the FMU. I just got back from town and took it up to 3,500-4,000 RPMS and it did nothing. The only times its dont it is twice while leaving a tool booth on the interstate and once right when I got off the interstate and pulled onto the main road. Neither one of the times I got on it really hard when It did it, just like kinda getting on it but nothing serious.

Seems like ever since the blower install its been one thing after another, I hope I dont end up joining the group of 94/95 guys that are think of....... :spot:

Ahhhh giving me nightmares with that description!

If you have it locked at 19 you are brave as chit meng! :nice:
When I replaced my first set of HG's I had my timing at 4 degrees and 60 psi fp when it blew on the dyno. After the new install of HG's I set it at 20 degrees locked not thinking about it and took for a spin. The first full throttle run was "blahblahblahblah-bop" and I knew I was in for another job and sure enough when I pulled it it was chunked.

I am now at 10 degrees and scared to go higher yet until I enjoy beating it again for awhile. I am only seeing 10 psi but no detination. It could be you are slightly lifting the head under boost.

You will not ever run trouble free anymore now that you have an SC.

Man...White smoke is pretty much unmistakable, looks cool as hell when its spewing out...I been there many years ago on that, not the Mustang tho...

My monies on water getting in somewhere/somehow..??? Either way it sucks.. :bang:

Pull the plugs to see if you got some exceptionally cleans ones??? Can you tell if its on bank or both??? Any leaks around the intake??? How bout checking to see if the lowers still TQ'd to spec??? Just thinking out loud here....Good luck with it...

I just talked w/ my friend chis who helped me w/ the SC install and he thinks its a bad PCV valve and oil is puddling up in my upper intake and when I get on it its burning it off, thus causing the white puffy smoke. Oil was getting into my upper intake last yr and I thought we fixed the prob but maybe the PVC valve is gone.

That's what it sounds like to me. When the car is really warm such as when your on the highway and then floor it out of the toll booth the pressure in the cylinder is making the hg leak just enough to be seen.

possible but I doubt it b/c Im not building that much boost when it happens, 3 maybe 4 PSI

Been there done that!! Sounds like a hg to me too. Im with 94sc50 about lifting the head under boost.. Damn stock head bolts..

Have you actually drained the oil, or are you just using the dipstick? Id drain it and if there is any coolant it will rush out first.

Oil burns blue btw, not white.

Just because you think you have enough fuel mods, doesnt mean its actually safe.. Whats the actual air/fuel ratio through out the rpms?

Dont you want to eliminate the PCV valve so no air gets forced down into the engine? Thats what someone told me to do for my turbos, but the PCV valve only lets air one way right and thats to the intake. I'd get rid of it anyways and put a breather on the VC to keep oil out of the intake.

the PCV releases crankcase pressure...hence the name Positive Crankcase Ventillation and it can go both ways

The last time it happend it wasent even under any boost and the other 2 times I dont think I had more then 2 or 3 PSI. I just went out and poped off the Rad cap and saw no bubbles at all while it was running. I cant drain the oil b/c I dont have any big enough containers to put any of the oil in and no jack stands to get the car up, all the work thats done on it is at chris's place.
