I heard a mustangs exhaust a few days ago and it was music to my ears. I never heard a mustang with such massive grumbling. I was wondering if anyone knew which company produces fantastic sounding exhaust systems. I mean the type that sound almost like boats.

Loudest = open header

Best sounding? Not sure about the new 3V motors, but 2V 4.6 and 5.0 mustangs both sound sweet with offroad H pipes and 40 series flowmasters IMO.

Magnaflow makes an awesome catback, high quality sound and appearance. Thats what I've got on my cobra.

Catback's or weld in mufflers offer a variety of sounds, X-pipes and H-pipes change the volume and pitch, Longtube headers make the sound deeper (as well as some cold air kits).

What is the best sounding exhaust is probably the most frequently asked question on any mustang board.

There is a differencee between loudest and being loud and sounding great. Look at SLP's products

Spin Tech gets my vote. I've changed exhaust and mufflers like underwear on my car and I'm finally happy.

Hey rhoover2, Where did you order your exhaust from? Was it hard to install? I am looking for an exhaust for my GT and am considering either the bassani or the magnaflow system. Decisions, decisions....

There was a local shop in the Louisville area that was a dealer and he ordered it for me. Better price than I could of got right from Magnaflow! He only charged 50 bucks to install it. It is an easy install. If I would have had access to a lift I would have done it myself, but I don't. Every thing on the Magnaflow bolted right up. Even the hangers matched the factory locations.

Of course, it's probably the headers helping the most but this is awesome

Flows are quiet :not nice: and have been prooven to leech HP in some applications.

The loudest will be Magnapacks and SLP loudmouths. I think SLP is a bit louder though. Trust me on this, SLP do not use mufflers, they have resonators which amplify the soud. It DOES NOT sound raspy on a stock H, it can sound a lil bit raspy with the SLP X pipe.

The SLP xpipe comes in pieces so you can configure it, even choose to put on or take off the cats.

Now this is for the 04's and below, wait for them to come out for the 05's I bet they roar

Check out my muffler delete thread. A couple of fellows have done it & love it.

My poor mans air box thread. Doing this till I decide who has the best full replacement system

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=10674

Both these mods made a big difference in top end pull & MPG.

What's up with their bogus sound clips? If you click on either (inside or outside) the links just send you to another website.
