Well, my trip to the junkyard proved to be elating and depressing in the same stroke.

It is an 87 T-bird, T-5, with the EEC-IV computer still in it. That's the good news.

The lousy news is that they don't let people pull engines or transmissions, he won't sell it, and he wants $350 for just the engine. Or I can give him $700 for 2 days to get anything that I can off of it.

Screw that, I can go buy a running car for that much. Well, there's always more yards.

I hate Northern VA.

What a rip.

Why not just search the TURBOFORD.ORG website and see if there is something near by to pick up?

Hell I got a 88'TC I would sale cheaper than that and you could shell it at your leisure

i would pay 700 and strip every last screw, nut and bolt off that car and a few others that you may need. Get a team together and Attack!!

Oh I'm willing to pay the price, but considering people have bought entire cars for less than that, it is absurd to spend that on a single piece of equipment knowing full well I can get more for less.

I thought about that too, but the problem would be assembling a team and gathering required tools. On the other hand, the look on the guys face when 4 trucks and 10+ guys come rollin in to start stripping the car after the deal is closed would be priceless. I would leave an empty shell, and nothing more. I'd even take the glass, he'd be left with an empty mangled unibody BWA HAHAHA!!!! Right then......

Well seeing as the thought of travelling to some far off out of state place is already being considered by me, I may consider that. PM me (or post here if you like) with a general location and I'll get back to you on that.

I'm in West Texas and it would probly cost you 400.00 in gas/food just to come get and haul it back. As much as I would like to sell the car I think you would be better off checking your small towns around you. That is where I found my TC, in a J/Y 20 miles away. I would also check the local papers as well as drive around and see if you can find one.

Look through the little used car dealer ads too. That's how I found my running parts car. Cheaper than what your jy guy was askin'. Some of these jy guys are smokin' crack. Seems they want to make a killin' or not sell anything...

Check around

I bought my 88 TC 5-speed donor car off of Turboford.org. Paid $500 and drove it home 200 miles. They're out there. Check the NATO website, Ebay, etc. I'm sure you can find one cheaper than $700.
