low coolant light?

ever since i got the stang back from the body shop i have had this problem... if you run the car kinda hard, the low coolant light comes on. the coolant is at the perfect level, and its not running hot. just the light. Fluidyne radiator. help!

yeah, that light was on for a year for me, then when i had a compression test done on my car, i found out that i had a head gasket problem, so i recommend to do a compression test on ur car, or maybe ur sensor is bad. but either way, i would still test the car, it doesnt hurt to try.

You don't

Ford deleted it in 2001 so they could put a "Check Gas Cap" light in instead

Seems knowing your gas cap is on tight is more important than coolant

i even changed to a SIMCO gauge and it still has a "Check Gas Cap" light instead of the coolant light. the gauge was listed as a 99-04 model thing. if someone with a 99-00 model purchased that guage cluster from SIMCO, what will happen with the low coolant light?

They would probably be checking their gas cap when their radiator is bone dry :rlaugh:

cleaned the sensor. looks fine. light still comes on. :(.

I believe there is a float in the resevoir that also indicates a low level. The float might be gummed up for whatever reason and might somehow be sticking "down" and triggering a low coolant level.

Any time I flush my system I always take a spray nozzle on the hose and spray the crap out of the resevoir to clean it out...the far end is near impossible to fully clean. I also had to add STOPLEAK in the middle of winter since I couldn't afford a new radiator the first year I bought it and had to drive it that winter, NEVER add that stuff if you don't have to. I'm still cleaning it out of the system 3 years later...
