Part of my list of goals is to stick and oem coolant overflow back in with my Efan, along with the low coolant sensor since that's the only warning light on my gauge pod that isn't hooked up.

87-89 sensors/bottles are resiculously overpriced, while 90-93 bottle/sensors are reproduced and more readily available (since only the GT had a low coolant sensor in 87-89

Do they interchange in terms of the wiring? Can I plug a 90-93 sensor into my '88 harness?

To answer this hotly debated topic...

No, they do not interchange. The plug on the harness differs.

87-89 is a 2-wire sensor and 90-93 is 3-wire

So here's some part numbers.

Background pic, my original 1988 tank without coolant sensor. Part number e6ze-8c045-aa. Makes sense as 1986 had same bottle and no sensor available

Foreground, a 90-93 tank with sensor part number e7ze-8c045-aa and 1987 was the first year a sensor was offerered

Other than the different features for the cap, same damn bottle . Internal features are the same. So maybe you can use the 87-89 sensor here.
