Low Coolant Sensor - Retro Fit Questions

I have an 88 LX w/out the low coolant sensor in the overflow reservoir. A couple of related questions I have been curious about. If I add the coolant sensor will it fit onto my current radiator reservoir? Do you know if the wire and bulb for the low coolant warning set-up are in the gauge cluster? That is, did Ford have it in place in the event the car was being built as a GT (which had the low coolant sensor) but never made the connections? I wonder if any forum members have tried this.

if you follow the parts they sell for replacement there is not a overflow bottle for an 88 with the sensor. i believe it was not an option at all till 1990 for gt's according to these parts for sale. i would doubt there is a light or anything in the harness that is set up for a low coolant sensor. someone else shed some light?
