Low Horsepower to the wheels!

its a 94gt w/ dss super pro 331 trick flow heads and tf street heat intake b31 cam strim with 6psi. dynoed a little over 300 to the wheels. is that too low. its been tuned already. where is my hp. it runs strong though...!?!!??

Automatic or stick? If its an auto, don't worry about it, drum dyno's are useless for determining HP and TRQ with an auto transmission.

If its a stick, you are in a world of trouble. That combo should be putting 450ish to the wheels without sweating.

Check for a few things. Boost leaks, vac leaks, exhaust leaks, sensors that may not be working properly (MAF?), spark plugs being old (is it breaking up at all?)... There's a lot that could be involved. Personally I don't know much about the stroked/blown side of the spectrum, so hopefully someone who knows about those can chime in. Good luck!

I had a friend with the same problem. Massive boost leak, wasn't getting any squeezed air to the engine.

we checked for boost leaks and found a couple. i was thinking of going to a 2.85 pulley to get more boost. hopefully 10psi instead of the 6 i have now. im changing out the plugs to 3924 autolites and putting a new set of wires on it. will the 4 psi difference bump me up to where i need to be? or close

You need to get it retuned. If you had it tuned with boost leaks, the tune won't take into account all the additional air. I would take it real easy and limp it back to the tuner. You've totally changed the air / fuel mix in the engine. Sort it out the right way before you throw even more air at it.

i just got it back yesterday from tuner. im pretty sure all boost leaks are gone. we had the upper plenum off over the weekend and put all new gaskets. tightened up a couple of lines. the dyno sheets show the car running good with good a/f all throughout. i heard an arcing noise last night so im going to replace the ig wires cause they are crumbling apart after 2 years. idk. any other suggestions? the car feels very strong. it dynoed at 321hp to the wheels. the dyno sheet only went up to 5000 rpm and the power was at a steady incline. he didnt rev to high on the dyno...???

Well he should have taken it to 6000 easy.

That being said, a street heat intake is murdering your combo. Ditch that long runner OEM replacement intake, throw on an RPM II, and rev to 6500.

yea i hear ya on that. i definitely need a new intake. i want to stay trickflow should i go for a track heat, R or box and what mods do i need to make it fit with elbow and under stock hood? also what should i gap the plugs at being its supercharged?

That intake is holding you back big time if you can afford it go with the box and rev that thing it will make alot more power up top you are 100hp shy

Would the box fit under the stock hood? I was going to suggest the TFS-R Long Runner because it sits about 3/4 of an inch lower.

Either way, both will really wake up your car at higher RPM, as for right now you're choking yourself out.

That won't fit under the stock hood of a 94-95 GT, but it will fit under a Fox GT. Correct me if I'm wrong someone!

i like the holley too, i have one and it does love boost, but the box wont fit under a stock hood so i guess the long runner one or a holley would be the next best

I'm not sure if either intake will fit under the stock hood. There are some motor mounts that drop the engine down a little that may give you the needed clearance. TFS track heat upper intake will fit your current lower and raise you peak hp up a little but it won't be as good as the intakes already mentioned. Truthfully you really have no idea what hp your current combo makes if it wasn't taken to 6,000rpm. It probably is still kinda low for your combo though. I would not take it that high without verifying your A/F ratio is still OK on the dyno.
