Low rpm higher torque?

How can I get more torque at a low rpm. I have heads, edelbrock upper/lower intake, borla, pulleys 190lph, 3:55. It makes power but only at a higher rpm. I don't really want to go with a blower.

Yea the easiest way to get more torque to the ground off the line is to drop the gears. Our cars are just to heavy for anything higher than a 3.73 and that is minimum there. I have actually considered moving my car up to a 4.10 gear soon.
 
I just have borla exhaust that saleen installed awhile back. I'll try off-road pipes and see. Any other ideas? I was reading the post that a chip and help too. Does it really give a lot of hp? shrug:)
 
Get 4.10's and a o/r h-pipe and a 65mm TB (or whatever size u want) :) You need a performance chip though (i think) when you get those gears.


Btw, it isnt good to get 4.10's if your gonna add a blower down the road.
 
The offroad pipe will lower your low-end torque, not raise it, but it'll help on the top end. To really lower the torque band you'd have to advance the cam a bit. But that's a fair amount of work.

7 ft-lbs of torque *where*? Peak torque? When I switch from my catted pipe to my O/R pipe, I lose a noticable amount of low-end grunt. But then I spin the tires at the top end of second from a roll :banana:

I'm pretty sure my brother gained. (thats why i said it) :rolleyes:
 
from what i noticed you get more high end torque when you modify the out going exhaust (Headers, mid-pipe, cat-back).

you get more low end torque when you modify the in going air (heads, intake, etc)

gears would be a great overall way to get more acceleration. 3:73's if you're a manual and 4:10's if you're automatic.
