Lower 1/4 mile times, 4.10's or PI headswap?

For my next mod, I planned on getting 4.10's with a hypertech programmer to fix the speedo. Well, I was reading around on stangnet today, and I found out that apparently, ALL 98 auto GT's have 3.27 from factory? Does anyone know if thats true? If so, I was thinking going to 4.10's would make a difference, but maybe not as much difference as I wanted. So then I got to thinking, after the gear cost, hypertech cost and installation cost (no way I am messing with the rear end myself) I figured I could probably get a used set of PI heads and intake, with maybe a set of cams from comp cams, for not much more then I would end up paying with the gears when all is said and done. I would have to install the heads and intake myself, but I think I could handle that with the help of some friends. So my question is this, which one will give me lower 1/4 mile times? Which one is safer? And if you had the choice, which one would you go with? Thanks for the input, as usual I would be lost in life without this forum.

PI swap for sure!

Do both PI Heads and Intake and you won't be sorry, doesn't even compare to 4.10s (get those after ;) ). A full PI swap gives most people 60+rwHP, not to mention your compression.

Cool, I think I have made my decision, I will do the head swap first, and maybe do gears later. Question though, do a lot of people replace the headers while they are doing the headswap? I was thinking about getting a set of long tubes to top everything off (I just got a promotion at work, and I am itchin to spend some money here)! Question though, do I order headers for 99-04 or 96-98 with the PI Swap? I am thinking 99-04 someone correct me if I am wrong.
