Lowering on 17x9's... Possible???

I've got the newer model fenders and raised it back up to stock ride height and pulled out the inner fender junk just to keep from rubbing... now I'm in the nose bleed section

Have any of you found a way to lower the 87-93 GT on 17x9's w/o rubbing?

The 93 Cobra came stock with 17's. I don't see why yours is rubbing if you have the 92-93 fenders. Maybe your tires are too big.

Mansonozz and Raceholic's cars are both on 17x8s

17x9s can be done, i have C springs on mine, with 17x9s all around on the 87-89 fenders.

I dont know if you are running stock brakes or not, but i have the wider SN95 rear axle, so my wheels are out a little further, and i needed to roll the rear fender.

Only other rubbing i have is at full lock, which i can fix with come steering rack limiters.

So I could essentially use spacers... what are C springs and rack limiters- car looks awesome!

Oh yeah, I'm running whatever came stock on the 93 Cobra- 245/40 or 45... I think I have 45's. The tire just fits the rim as far as width and isn't very tall.

im a little lost as to why you would want to run spacers.

C springs are the FRPP springs for mustangs. The rack limiters were actually a stock part on 91-93, basically, it limits the amount you can turn the wheel, so you will avoid rubbing the tires at full lock.

so are you running 93 cobra wheels? if so, those are 17x7.5s, or 17x8s, it varies on who you ask. but i do know that it was 245/45s on there.
