lowering spring intall

I really want to try it myself i just dont have the know how yet. What would probly happen is that i would get it apart and some thing would go wrong and i would have to get it towed to the shop to get it fixed. which would coast even more money. so ill leave it to the experts for now. i wish i had some friend that worked on cars to help me. i need new friends. lol

I see yall are not my friends making fun of me about my mis-typing. lol

Well i was going to say if your close to canton, NC i could help. Ive lowered 5 mustangs by my self so i know what to do just from experiance. Really the only thing you need to do is put the car on jack stands, remove the wheels. Jack the a-arm up to relieve the pressure on the strut and sway bar end links. Remove the strut from the spindle, and remove the end links. slowly let the jack down untill you can remove it, and let the spindle fall to the ground, now the spring should come out fairly easy. ( be careful the stock springs have a lot of pressure on them.) reverse the process to put it back together. Repeat on other side. The rear you have to take the shock and quad shock loose and let the axle drop, use a jack to let it down so you can control how fast it drops. Do both side at once on the rear. Once you have all four rear shock loose and the axle dropped you'll have to pry on the stock springs a little bit to get them out but they dont have no where near as much pressure on them. reverse the process on the rear to put it back together. Besure you turn the springs the same way the stock ones were turned. It will definatly need to be aligned after that.

It's too bad that only half of the 94-95 section is from LA. :p

I do agree that it's a hot idea to have a friend who has done it before watch ya.

To the above write-up, I'd add that I loosen the front LCA bolts before allowing the LCA to drop (and the spring to come out). This relieves stress on the bushings.

the hardest part is to remove the front springs( unless you have the spring compressing tool. And get in the top strut bolt undone(unless you have air tools.)

I would say save the money for something else. isn't stanger007, and sage2k are located in baton rouge, LA I would say hit them up with a PM and see if they are able to help you.

And I was going to use that install that i posted since i had the same springs but it was really a straight forward so I didn't use it.

Its easy to get the front springs out if you un do the sway bar. The A-arm can go down far and it will just fall out almost.

The hardest part for me was getting the rears in. Ihad to push the rear end down and put them in at the same time.

No spring compressing tool is needed. Some people literally kick the spring to get it out. I was going to attempt this ... but could not get at the spring with the right angle to kick it out.

My suggestion (if you have a problem getting the front springs out) ... which I did not ... would be to get a long rope. Tie one end of the rope to the bottom coil. With the control arm being released, you have plenty of room to tie a rope to the bottom one. Pull the other end of the rope. This gives you plenty of room to clear out of the way if the spring was to go wild on you. Call this redneck if you will, but I have heard of people doing this and it works.
