Thinking about getting some LT headers and see that pypes just came out with new LTs for the 96-04 stangs for $380 and they are stainless steal. Do you guys think these would be any good and would they fit an automatic? What other brands would you recommend?
This is the link for at AmericanMuscle for the pypes ones http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-long-headers-96-04-gt.html

I want to push as much power out of this 2v without doing cams. The only other mod left would be the HPS hardball intake manifold.

Cool, looks good to me. I would wait though to see what others who bought it and say about it. I think it would fit auto equipped stangs because it didn't say so that's good news:)

Will it fit your current MRT H pipe? or will you have to buy another h pipe to fit those LT's? I saw AM sell a pypes one to those LT's.

You need a shorty mid pipe to run with it. I will just have the local shop cut mine. I spent a lot of money on that MRT catted H and I still want cats on the car to stay legal. I can't wait till some reviews come out on that pipe.

Are those pypes LT's legal in your state? CA is a :nono: I know for sure:nonono:

I'm pretty sure all LTs are not carb legal.

Also, can anyone tell me what is better: Ceramic coated or stainless steel?

just a side ? wouldn't lts make the engine more efficient thus reducing emissions making everything better? i think its just illegal because it gets rid of all the factory cats?

Technically, if you remove the factory cats or change their location, its not legal.
According to the EPA written law, only factory replacements are legal and LTs aren't legal reguardless. LTs relocate the convertors and O2 sensors that are close to the factory manifolds, thus not legal.

They look similar to the CAM stainless longtubes on EBAY. Not sure if there is a tie there or not. I have a Pypes stainless midpipe that my buddy welded high flow cats in and its great. $380 is a nice price for stainless longtubes, has me thinking now.....

MAC's on my auto..btw, any plans of installing a torque converter? i would do that before headers, if you install headers and then want to go with a torque converter you will be charged for more labor as they will have to pull off one of the headers(not sure which), not unless youre planning on installing all this yourself....and imo the auto needs a torque converter to get up and moving, no less than a 3500 stall imo....3800 in mine, and i LOVE it.

I emailed Pypes and they said yes.
Cool, i'm trying to figure out that since my catted SLP x is a three piece made to be able to take the arms off and used with SLP Lontgtubes if I can use another auto fitting longtube to use with my current x minus the arms. Otherwise SLP's are just too expensive and I don't want to buy a shoty catted x.
I just figured out that the CA DMV sent my registration to my mom in Louisiana and i can renew my CA reg there with no smog.

A friend at work installed the pypes Lts on his buddies 02 gt and he said it was a horrible fit. Did alot of hammering to get to fit said wasnt worth it, guess you get what you pay for. That was on a lift 2, he said would have been impossible on jack stands.
