I was driving around testing the car and getting some miles on it before tuning it. I noticed some coming out from the cowl and i knew it was coolant. The car was not hot at all ~150, I shut it off and when I took off the hood, I noticed my upper hose had popped off of the t-stat housing. As far as I can tell no damage anywhere, it was caught in time.

Would would cause something like this other than the hose not being tightened? I'm sure it was tight, didn't happen before. My t-stat housing is chrome, I am thinking the hose slipped up on the housing somehow.

Do you have spring clamps or regular screw clamps. I use to hate spring clamps but learned to love them when hoses always had to be retightened after they was put on a week later. The spring clamps are better because they expand and contract with the heat. Make sure you had enough coolant in there to read. And the t-stat aint stuck. raidiator cap would be the only other thing to check.

You might want to remove the chrome on the part where the hose affixes. Just be very careful if you do this - chrome likes to fly off and into your skin as you remove it.

FWIW, I have a similar experience and feeling as GM about hose clamps. I should get some dedicated hose-clamp pliers and learn to love the OEM style clamps (which I probably long since threw away).

ok then i think you will be fine then. If you dont get any spring clampstighten up as much as you can COLD, then let the car get up to operating temp and tighten the hose clamp. Try using a ratchet and 5/16 socket to tighten. Dont overtighten and strip just good and snug. Be careful though so you dont get burnt
