MAACO paint work??

Whats up guys,

Quick question regarding MAACO the body shop. They have a special to paint the back bumper for $149. Its not for my mustang but for my Acura TL. There would be no body work needed its just scuffed up and I want to find a cheap way to clean it up. The car is a lease but I do want it to look good.

Anyone ever use MAACO just for paint?

MACCO has at least 4 different paint jobs. The cheapest is cheap - not much shine, will fade, very light coat, and so on. If you were returning the car within a year, then I'd say go for it. But, my guess is that after ~2 years, you'd notice paint fade.

FWIW: MACCO's top-tier paint job is good and is "close" to what you'd get at a dealer. But, the difference is that MACCO charges for every little thing! A dealer or regular body shop would fix a very minor door ding or very minor surface rust as part of the repaint. NOT MACCO. Still, when they did my car, they were cheaper than the others. And, I don't really care if I have 3 small dings that you can't see unless you get right next to the car. Besides, I'm likely going to need to replace my passenger side door because of inside rust in a few years.

Here's my car a few years after I had MACCO's top-tier paint job :

The paint still looks the same today. No complaints about the paint job. But, I will note that for my car, the put on a very heavy primer coat. If you put your face right against the paint, you can see the difference under the top coat between the Macco paint job and a Dealer paint job. Actually, I kinda like the Macco way better. Put a heavy *ss primer coat on the metal to try to protect it more from rusting out and and pits that may happen from rocks hitting the car.
