Yes the MAC catback is a great catback. The only problems people really have with them are that the tips aren't stainless. People end up welding different tips in. I love MAC flowpaths.

How loud?

How loud are the Mac exhaust systems? I'm looking for a louder system. I have Magnaflow weld-ins right now. I've already been to mustangexhaust.com and listened to those macs. I was wondering how the mac catback would sound and how loud it would be with a stock midpipe?

Itll sound a lot different than the magnaflows since it is a chambered design. It will sound more muscle car and its a lot deeper. I prefer the chambered muffler and the flow path sounds great. I got flowmasters on mine but the macs are comparable to it. I think the macs are deeper than the flows.

Thanks Matt. I'm having a heck of a time deciding on an exhaust system. I'm looking for loud and not really for horsepower. My Magnaflow weld-ins are great at around 3000 rpm's, but when cruising they are quieter than the car was stock. I've been seriously looking at the SLP Loudmouth and the Magnapacks. I'm a little worried about the Magnapacks though, because my Magnaflows are so quiet. I just don't know what to do. So now, I'm taking a look at MAC, because price is a factor, and I can get GOOD prices on Ebay for MAC stuff. I can get a MAC catback for $289 shipped. I can get a Magnapack catback for $459 shipped. If the Magnapacks weren't so expensive, I would be likely to go with them. But right now, it's looking like it is between the SLP Loudmouth and the MAC, maybe. I could change my mind in 5 minutes though.

The 3'' Flow path system is probably one of the best systems on the market. Now that MAC has the "Tru-Fit" design you have a lot more freedom to align the exhaust as you need. The kit comes in eight pieces (four on each side) and it's separated in all of the previously difficult positions. As you have read above, the tips are now polished stainless steel.

The sound of the MAC is unique and in my opinion one of the best sounding exhausts on the market. It almost gives the 4.6 a 5.0 sound. It's not quite as loud as some of the other systems but it has one of the deepest and ballsy sounds of all. When coupled with the Pro-Chamber, well...I'll let you behold that wonder on your own. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed.

I don't know the exact numbers for either the 2.5'' or 3'' but it's a pretty decent amount for the money. The 3'' is what I bought for my 04 and I noticed a good bit of increase; especially if it is your first mod.
