Guy is selling - on craigslist - Mac LT's new in box with the ceramic heat coating. Price is $350. Should I jump on this or just buy the flowtechs for $275 and then coat them myself?
I've had Mac ceramic coated LT's for a couple of years now and my advice is go ahead and buy them just make sure they are tight. I had a shop put mine on and kept taking it back because I could hear a leak. Then I got sick of it and had a buddy help me lift it up and get his tiny hand up there and tighten the header bolts. No problems since then. Somebody is probably going to say something about mac headers and sucking oil but that was a 4V issue not 2V. Also your exhaust will get quieter at idle and louder at full throttle. I kinda miss my louder idle but the performance gain is where it's at.
