First off, will the MAC prochamber off road h pipe bolt up to my stock cat back? Secondly, whats the difference between the regular off road h pipe and the pro chamber?

Yep, should fit just fine. MAC has some info on their website about their product, but basically....an H pipe just has one pipe horizontally connecting the two sides. The Prochamber has an open chamber with baffles that connects the two sides. Supposed to provide better flow of air between the two and also regulate the backpressure better. I'm sure someone has a more technical explanation.

I'd say go prochamber.

The prochamber will be quieter and deeper than your typical o/r h and o/r x. It will bolt up to the stock system and headers. Supposedly adds a couple horse over a regular h/x... Its a really unique sound too.

I'd say go for the prochamber

It does have a different sound, I have it on an '88 along with long tubes. The chamber is a larger merge area to equalize the exhaust pulses from each side and helps scavenging. I can also tell you that it acts almost like another muffler. If you want it to bark, go H. If you want more low end torque then either the X or ProChamber works. But if you want long tubes at any time, you have to use MAC headers with it, it will not bolt right up to other headers without modification but it will bolt to the factory or aftermarket exhaust.

Cool, thanks guys for the explanations. I've really been toying around with my exhaust for so long; its not the money, thats stopping me from buying, its the fear that I won't like it, plus I can't make up my mind, there are so many choices out there. I was originally gonna go with bassani catted x pipe with bassani cat back, but someone came into the dealership i work at with a mac offroad h pipe and I liked the sound. So I think at this point I'm gonna go with Bassani cat back and mac off road prochambers. I like how the pro chamber gives it that sound as if the engine is cammed out.

One more thing, while I'm here, does anyone run the bassani BX cat back systems? Any problems or complaints? The regular bassani system is outrageously expensive, but the BX is supposedly just as good. Thoughts?

The BX is just the aluminized version. Should be fine unless you are in snow. DO IT, and make a clip, I was thinking the same set up

Mac mid pipes and catbacks are well known to rust if
they are subjected to moisture for a long period of time.
My Mac catback rusted horribly within two years time
I will never purchase a Mac product ever again.
