mach 1 induction hood

Does anyone know if you can use aftermarket intake systems with the mach 1 shaker induction system, could you use the mach 1 air element housing over an open intake. And trying to supercharge one is out of the question right?

5.0 Mustang and Superfords did an install on an SN95 in their November 04 issue and it says "...CDC now makes a shaker for your '94 or '95 GT ( or GTS), but only if it still wears its factory intake manifold . It's also routed to the stock airbox. This was on a 94/95 so I don't know if it applies to newer stangs or not. The intake manifold part yes I'd imagine but I'm not positive about the airbox.

I have an MRT Street Smart CAI installed on my Mach, and it retains the shaker function:

I have a C&L Mach 1 airbox, K&N filter, 85mm MAF, and Trueflow inlet tube. Retains the shaker's functionality.
