Mach 1 Rims on/5 lug swap - Pic

Did the 5 lug swap, kinda cheap kinda not.

Parts-
-Mach 1 rims (craigslist) $200
-Toyo Proxy tires 225/40-275/40 (Craigslist) $175
-95 v6 spindles $30 (Junkyard)
-00 Front brake lines $22 (parts store)
-95 Rotors (Junkyard) $17
-99+ Pbr calipers/brackets/pads $48 (Primo Junkyard)
-ES T/R-B/J boots $10 (Parts store)
- 5 lug drums $21 (junkyard)
-5 lug 31 spline superior axles (summit) $230
-Mount and balance - $60
-Hardened 5/8 spindle washers $5
-Reman Rack and pinion $75 (Parts Store)

All went well, brake lines did not need adapter on pass side, just a little grind off of the mounting block to caliper. Needed new rack (Leaking & play in inner tie rods), back went smooth. Brakes feel better even with stock booster and master. Will upgrade soon when rear disk is addressed.

Looks real good! Your setup sounds like mine, except I used Moog 02 ball joints.. When I completed mine, the brakes felt worse with the stock fox booster and master still in place(pbr & drum).. I had to change to 95 booster/master with aftermarket valve to get good braking....

Thanks! Yea I heard both about brakes being good/no good with stock booster/master. I would say let them wear in before making that assumption unless its really bad... mine took a few miles to get there. I can build on top of this setup, so parts will come here and there after the expenses of the holiday.

That looks great, I'll add that my cars brakes after the front PBR upgrade (stock drums rear) with stock booster/master feel much better than stock components.

Somewhat related question, what spring setup are you running? I like the stance.

thats a lot cheaper then my 5 lug swap is gunna cost me. i think my total is around $2200-2500 but thats with FR500's and everything new except the spindles.

There really is no ideal MC for rear drums with anything other than the stock 60mm calipers up front. Using a 4-wheel disk MC isn't ideal as well as it pushes too much fluid and tends to make the pedal stiff and require only a short distance to modulate.

Eibach pro kit. I already had the 31 spline Detroit true track locker.. so was a little cheaper. Yea I worked with used parts, but measured rotors and found almost new pads. Was anticipating to have to roll the rear fenders, but the 275's fit perfect... inner was already massaged for slicks and don't expect much movement in the rear (battle box's, U/L boxed arms, subs). I am stoked on the swap!

Damn that looks good. Not in a "crazy custom" way, it just looks "right" like Ford could've rolled it off the line with those rims on it. I really need to do mine this winter.

Thanks again! Nice thing is I just sold the ponys for $200 and still got 4 lug superior axles to sell, its getting cheaper by the day..

look in the year 2009. Seriously though, they've jumped in popularity/price over the last couple of years. Wish I had kept mine when I sold my 05.

No kidding, I picked up a pair of Mach's with tires for $220 a few years ago and could not find another 2 to make a complete set for a reasonable price! They are just collecting dust now.

Yea I jumped on them.. guy wanted $250 but offered $200 and he bite. He also posted in the wrong section of craigslist (cars+trucks not auto parts for sale). Its all about the junkyard too, if you can wrench theirs deals to be had everyday. So I guess the 4 lug brake stuff is scrap metal?
