Yes you can remove and re-mount the equipment. I would recommend using ABS plastic to make the adapters. It will give you 4+ inches of height. However, in my system I kept the Mach box and installed Infinity Kappa 5x7 Components. The sound is great and you dont have to worry about sympathetic resonance from your subs affecting your rears. I used one nice MTX 10" and am happy. I had room for at least 2 10"s, but wanted to keep weight down. [/IMG]
