Mach 460 sound problems

The rear speakers will go off and on, sometimes they completely turn off and a few seconds later turn back on. Also it seems like the bass quality suddenly got really bad as well, it used to be really clear and crisp and now it sounds like its blown almost, but the fact that both speakers sound like that makes me believe its something with the amplifier or something...

Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my mach 460 so I took it out becayse there are too many complications with that system so i re wired my spakers and just put in a new cd player and removed my casette player. I prefer it this way actually sounds better than it did when I first got the car. took about 4 hours and $200 for sony xplod and speaker wire. (lots of wire)

In my opinion it definetly sounds like the amplifiers gone bad. l

I would say its one of a few things, it could be the amps, a short in the wiring or even the HU itself.

Mine does this in the front. It's the amps. Mine will click on when I bump the volume up high for a second.

If you can't get it to work just gut it and replace with all aftermarket.

My 00 GT had a similar problem. The speakers on the passenger side front and rear went out. I just had an aftermarket c/d player installed and wired around all of the amps.

yup your amps are blown i had the same problem. bought a used pair for $25 plugged them in and we are rolling again!
