Mach 460 sound system

I'm having trouble with my stereo system. There seems to be a background noise like a bad ground. When I accelerate it makes a whining noise. Sometimes it goes aways and then it comes back. Does anyone know how to get rid of it or fix it?

i have the same thing does it rise as u rev in neutral cause mine did i thought it was a bad ground from the hood but it didnt work if i figure it out ill let u know

Try tapping the drivers side kick panel inside, right next to your left foot. If it does change tones or goes away, then there is a ground behind it.

Do you have the stock radio in your car? Check for bent pins in the harness this will also cause some feedback, also if you have an aftermarket radio it could have a loose connection or bad ground as well. Good luck Dan

No I think there is two wires touching or grounding eachother out. This was a problem that came from the factory. Go to the sound and shine forums on stangnet. I think there is a write up of how to fix it.

check the drivers side kick panel, that cured my Mach 460 stereo engine whine
