mach 460 stereo unit issues

Good morning all,

I am having issues with my stereo. It displays BAD O or 0 not sure which one. CD still works, after playing CD receiver goes to 1 am channel only and plays no colume control either. I think this means the head unit is history but can't find anything on it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Can't help, only commiserate. My problem is the reverse of yours. The head unit works fine, but the CD player has gremlins. It keeps trying to recognize a CD that ain't there, randomly popping on every few minutes. Really annoying.

I solved my problem by unplugging the CD from the head unit. Guess that won't work in your case though.

Normally on stock radios, when you start getting codes or funny things happening, it is history. As long as you still have power and you can hear your speakers there is really nothing else that could be wrong. No resets on factory radios that I know of either.

Hey John I see ur in New Port Richey.

Call this number 727-571-1996 and ask for Chad, that's Blue Oval Corral, the local speed shop that is one of the sponsors for our Mustang club here.

Chad knows his stuff and can most likely tell you what the deal is, and if you need a replacement they have a Mustang salvage yard type thing and can get you a replacement.

Tell him Eric from Tampa Bay Mustangs sent you :nice:

Problem solved

Hey everyone,

Just an update to let everyone know how I fared.
I ended up calling crutdchfield and getting a radio and the adapter for the Mach460 stereo. The install was a breeze, sounds pretty good. Cheaper than a stock replacment & I can play CD-R/RW and MP3's now.
Fairly happy after 2 day's of driving/listening.
Will post back if any major issues come up.

Thanks for all advice.

John

GRGT1994 - I have that problem with mine - been that way for 2 years. I just keep a CD in it all the time, even if I'm not listening to it. Works fine that way. :nice:

I have a problem with the tape - only plays in one direction. I assume it's a belt problem. I haven't been too concerned about it because I usually don't use it.
