Mach 460 Sound Opinions

Just A Curiosity On What You All Think Of The Sound System Some Of Us Have In Our Stangs !

Personally For A System That Comes Stock In Some Of Our Rides, Dont Sound Bad At All To Me !

And Before Ya'll Get Carried Away :bang: With Your Subs And Amps And What Nots. I Am Just Curious On What The Peeps With The Mach 480 Think Of It !

you in a coupe or vert? The sound is totally different between the two...on the coupe you have your two rear woofers back by the glass, on the vert they are right behind the driver/passangers seats. I have had both, and it sounds a lot better in the vert. I like it, but I think it's overpriced. I have added 1 10" sub to my setup, it evens it out nicely.

For the money you would spend on buying a 460 you can buy a somewhat decent quality aftermarket system, unless you're getting a new car then get it, because ford is making it std now.

however its a pain in the butt to do any work on. headunit (on the 99+) is a non-amplified output, goes to 2 amps in the back and so you cant put an amplified headunit in there.

mach 460 custom

my stang started out as a v6 stock system but i really wanted to put aftermarket speakers deck and subs in so i bought the front tweeter holders/grills and the rear decklid for the 460 system. I custom fit an alpine type s coaxial set into the door tweeter spot. I also made a custom sub holder that fits in the wheelwell and an ampboard that bolts up behind the rear seats. I like the sound of the 460 system but like most i like my stang to be unique. In the end the uniqueness cost about 500 bucks plus stereo equipment, but it was worth it to me.

The stock sound was good, but i put two alpine speakers in the rea deck of my 95' coupe... i have an amp im going to hook them up too, oh yeah =D
its my brothers old amp he was using for his alpine sub, (although its also used for speakers) so i can use it in my set (he just bought a larger amp from Sony)

i have never had the full mach system in it. i have always had a different head unit in it. but the speakers were mach 460 and they sounded great. but i just recently put focal speakers up front, eclipse 5x7s in the back pushed by a JL audio amp (already had an eclipse head unit) and it sounds so much better. i would go aftermarket if i were you instead of buying the mach system if thats what you are looking for

For a stock setup, i like the Mach 460. It's enough of a system for me to keep me happy. It came standard with my car so i didn't have much of an option. But i got the newer better-looking 6-disk changer headunit. It has some cool features and it's gotta a pretty good kick to it.

I have no desire to change the stereo at all, more money for mods instead :)
