I was wondering if the new mach 1 rims would fit on a 65 mustang. they are 17x8 with 5.72 bs. if i put a 1.25 in spacer on them technically it should fit, right. also according to dodgestang 245's should fit. please help me.
LOL I've been thinking the same thing, and I think its safe to say if the Bullitt rims work on older stangs with spacers and a few small mods then the Mach 1 wheels should as well. Of course I'm still learning about classic stangs so perhaps we should await the response of a more seasoned owner.

Sounds ok to me....but I would go with a 1 inch spacer personally. I think the 4.75 ish back spacing fits better on a 65 mustang than the 4.5 bs. And of course those 245s would be on the rear only you can get 225 easily on the front and 235s without too much hassle (some people had rubs, some don't...I didn't have a rub with a 235 45 17).
After reading the post, yesterday, I put my Mach 1 Heritage wheels on my '66 today. I didn't really like the way they looked, but a 1" spacer was about right.
Its just hard to beat the look of classic wheels, on a classic car and the Mach wheels were no match for Torque Thrust II's... IMHO. On the other hand, the Mach Heritage wheels at about $125 each, is a great price!
There is also a company that sells reproduction/aftermarket Mach1 and Bullet wheels through summit. They have them in 16x8 and 17x8 it says they fit early mustangs. Has any one tried them?
Oops...I stand corrected... I got !!!! I hadn't actually looked at jcp123's car in a while, but I was totally sure it was a '65 for some reason.
Yes, it does make a difference comparing '65s and '67-'68s. I do know there are several places selling specific spacers to mount these wheels on '65-'66 cars. Just call any place like NPD, Kar Kraft, etc., and they should be able to give you the specifics.
