How much should a 5.0L block cost to machine? Hot tank, bore and hone, new cam bearings, freeze plugs, crank align hone, etc. Essentially go through the block and ready to build.

These are prices from a fairly local shop. I live in Cheyenne so northern Colorado is the best option

Balance rotating assembly $210
Cam bearings $70
Align hone $165
Hot tank $95
Bore and hone V8 $176
Freeze plugs $30
Magnaflux block $40

Are these prices normal? I don't remember it costing that much 10 years ago but things change. Anything else that needs attention during machine work?

I'm trying to decide whether to buy or build a 331 short block. Buying one from CHP is around $2400+shipping (street fighter). I have $100 in a stock motor from a 1990 Mustang but the crank is grooved pretty bad and the bearings are shot. The cylinders look good but I have no measurements to go off of.
