My buddy had his 1970 shelby 351W done at aldridge in Portland, they specialize in high performance fords of that vintage. Be advised they are not cheap but they do high quality work

Larson & King's downtown Portland have been building fast Ford engines for over 20 years.Ron and Ted built the engine in Jim Van Cleve's NHRA Super Stock record holding 427 Ford powered Fairlane many years ago as well as many others. They built my first 428 CJ Ford engine. It ran 12.80's in street tires in my 67 Fairlane back in the mid 80's when 12's were really fast!!!

Dave's suggestion is also a good place

When it comes to machine shops the "don't take it there" list far out weighs the "take it there" list

Have fun

Dave Bliss is probably the best in the South Sound.

What are your questions? I am no expert, but I might know something about the FE motors.

I have a few to suggest...

Gray's Automotive (I think they are in Tigard). I haven't had them do work for me. But, I know a few poeple who have. And it was pretty impressive. 503-620-4353

Same situation with Larry Kalsh (sp?) in Hillsboro. No work for me. But, a few months ago, he did a 302 for a friend.

I just had a 351W done for my 67 fastback by Ross Racing and Restoration (Forest Grove). The motor is bored and stroked to 427 cu. And I am more than happy. He knows his Ford motors (including the CJs). At a minimum, you should give him a call. 503-992-1700

It would probably be best to ask your engine builder / machinist... each guy usually has brands that he knows and trusts, and his type of set-up and experience will probably work out best with the products that he has used in the past.
