my oil pan drips. ive concluded a couple things.

i thought it was just after i drove the car it dripped some. my car has been sitting for about a week now, never started/moved while i wait for my injectors/maf in the mail. it has continued to leak without running, so that tells me this leak is just from a seal not holding.

so i went and jacked the car up. there was alot of oil and dirt on the pan obviously, but it seems to be running down from the back of the pan. now, with the car just sitting and it leaking still, im wondering if the oil even sits high enough to keep leaking from the gasket? or is this from the oil slowly draining back down into the pan and seeping out the gasket?

anyway, here is some before/after pics of what i did. hope it helps seal. note, this is not a major leak. the puddle is like a cap of oil full maybe? after a week. just enough to be annoying.

before:

If it's the rear seal do you think that's gonna stop the leak ...
In which event you can always pull the tranny and put a ****load of RTV on the seal too

Worked for me on the corner of my oil pan. Are you sure that yours isn't coming from the rearmain though?

yeah im pretty sure its not. i looked up more and its perfectly dry. the dripping just starts right at the back of the pan.

im just hoping it stops the dripping, its annoying when it leaves a little spot of oil every couple days. good to hear that it worked for you. i used lots of rtv if its going to work, it should.
