I get kicked off all the time after a decent run!

Pauls right though only those kind of track days I can get away with it all day but on race days they are tech' n like a mofo.

Well, that is primarily the reason why I never powershift it, BUT I do have a TKO and if that 1-2 tenth of a second makes a difference from a 12 second slip to a 11 second one... the thing WILL be powershifted! I do have it in my head that I can't do it though so I will have to overcome that.

I say experiment with it. I have raced 3 cars recently that havent been mine and in each car I set the new best. The owners werent power shifting and I was (now remember, new best on my 2 or 3 passes ever in the car). One car went from a 12.96 (him driving) to a 12.93 (me driving) which annoyed me, but he was low 13s with it that day, so made me happy. The second one was 13.3 (owner) and I ran 13.0 in it on my only 2 passes. The third was my dads car, he was going 12.4s all day and I jumped in and went 12.16 and 12.11. Now these are all people who race on a consistent basis, and just powershifting (i also dont know how fast they shift) these were the results I got from them.

Now if your worried about breaking it, dont do it. But Id say try it a few times, I bet you do see a tenth or two, and then youll be doing it all the time!

That's good stuff. I'll have to take some videos of myself this summer and compare them to see where I can improve. Look for a thread next summer where I'm asking for tips

YES! There is no need to ask any other question. Just do it.

Jake - You could always move to Delaware. They've got the best engineering program in the country. And the tracks are still open.

JR - Are you surprised that you get kicked out of the track? It's not like your car doesn't stick out or anything....

Paul - I meant to mention a few other things. First, the car sounds sick. Second, your wife is awesome for video taping. If I bring the revs over 3k in my car, I get slapped by my girlfriend. What's up with your gauge cluster? Is that out of a 99? I like it....

Consider it done. Now i just gotta come up with a way to get rid of these gears, get some money for the new ones and money to get them installed. I figured you guys would say yes since my power band is going to be higher than you guys with the afr/eddy/fti combos......

Paul, Downloaded the vid, but couldn't get it to play. I'm really curious to see it though. The way you explain how you shift, sounds exactly how I do it.

That's exactly how I would do it when I was learning how to drive stick in my 94 stang. Just a little slower and missing the gears, but besides that, identical.

I like the video...good shifting...I think I shift pretty comparable except for the 2nd-3rd shift ...I don't miss it but it is noticeably slower looking at it from my point of view...it is just hard to "push" forward when the car is trying to "push" you back I guess

I would like to see how your feet work in conjuction with your shifts so get that video up

Again thanks for the video...I think I watched about 20x

holy freakin crap thats some fast shiftin. after seeing that, i don't know if powershifting is really gonna make too much of a difference. the only thing that is going to make a difference is if you put in an auto with a full manual valve body.
