MAF/Air temp problem

I'm in the military and I stored my car at my sisters place in Florida, during bootcamp and some months after. Upon storing it in her garage, rats got into my engine bay and ate my wiring for my MAF and air temp sensors. My brother in law made a temp fix with duct tape and solder. I really don't know how to look for replacements for the sensors and wiring and I really don't feel like taking my car to the Ford dealership and have them charge me an arm, leg, 3 fingers and a random goat to fix it. I'd like to do it myself, if its decently easily. Can anyone point me in the right direction of finding what I need and purchasing it online or at an auto parts store? Thanks!

Any thoughts of getting a cat?

Seriously, the post does not state the MY of your car. The wiring to the MAF is different depending upon the year. Later model Mustangs have the IAT and MAF combined into a single unit.

I can help you with the wiring diagrams for the 2002 MY.

Note, you may need some luck with this. A salvage yard will not sell parts off an engine unless the the engine is ruined. And most salvage yards do not keep unsellable blocks.

Now, Ford uses the same MAF in a lot of cars. So you don't have to limit your search to Mustangs.

You are NOT going to be able to buy just the sensor WIRES. They are part of the engine harness. If you want to BUY a complete harness, one option is a new one from FORD. And you will not like the $$.

As I said before, the other option is the salvage yard route. But this will require some patience and research.

Bottom line, it will still be necessary to CUT the pigtail from the donor car and SPLICE it to the old harness.

The sensors themselves are common parts available in most any autoparts store. MAF is an $$ part. Most ppl go with the reman unit to save a few bucks.
